Brian and Brittaney met on the other side of the world. While on a college abroad experience, Brittaney was swept away by Brian and his then shoulder-length hair. We had a blast playing some catch-phrase and arcade games, which set the tone for a very, very fun day.
A couple weeks ago Rob, Suzy and I went out to celebrate their engagement. We drove out to Rob’s local golf club, where he is a household name and then cruised over to enjoy a a bottle of wine during a beautiful MN lake sunset. We are so excited to be spending their big day with them this coming August, shooting both photo and cinema. Enjoy these images! -M
We just found out last night that we were voted “best videographer” by Minnesota Bride magazine’s “Best Of 2010″. We thank all of our friends and fans that voted for us and want you to know it means the world to have your support. We also thank our couples for letting us share the most important day of their lives with them. We find tremendous reward in capturing those memories and your unique stories.
Many thanks,
The Capture Team: Matt, Tyler, Calvin, Faith and Bean (our puggle)
Gene Pease is one of my favorite local MSP photographers. Gene and Jill met back in high school while they were working at a sandwich shop. They like Toms shoes and Famous Dave’s BBQ.
When I film a wedding, I look for things that stand out throughout the day. Whether it’s a reoccurring theme or just something that is unique to the couple, these are the things that I feel make great films. For Gene and Jill, their day felt like a big hug. From the giant green trees that hung over the top of us and hugging us during their ceremony, to the countless hugs I saw Gene and Jill exchange, we could all feel their love. The Woods was a very secluded, yet warm and intimate place to have a wedding, very appropriate for Jill and Gene.
I hope you enjoy their film. Afterwards, hug someone you love. If you don’t have someone to love, go apply at a sandwich shop and see what develops. -M
It’s hard enough to find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, let alone someone who’s name rhymes with yours. Gordon and Jordan found it, and the rest of us have to sit back and be jealous.
Gordon wrestled for the UofM, where Jordan’s dad happens to be the coach. Jordan told me she had sworn off dating wrestlers, but somehow Gordon changed all of that. We had so much fun hanging with them on their day and we were all super excited when we got to run out and shoot on the new TCF Stadium field.
I had the amazing opportunity to travel with Eliesa from Photogen Inc to film Jorge and Tara’s wedding in Santiago de Compestela this past month. Santiago is known for the pilgrimage that thousands and thousands of people from all over the world make every year to their famous cathedral. Tara made the journey to Santiago for some study abroad, and she ended up meeting and falling in love with Jorge, who has lived there his entire life. Talk about an important pilgrimage and an inspiring love story.
When taking in their day, I was really impacted by how the entire city is always on the move. Between the pilgrims making their rounds and the rest of us trying to navigate a foreign land, their day really felt like a journey in itself. I hope that tone comes through in their film.
Matt – as Father of the bride, I comment from a different perspective than most – I have never in my life been so touched as by an event. I am blessed. Not only by my daughter, who amazes me daily, but by the company she keeps which includes you – your video has taken me back to the powerful emotions surrounding that day – I have tried unsuccessfully to explain the rhythm of Santiago to others, however, my friend, you have accomplished what I could not imagine being done … my thanks to you for bringing tears to my eyes, emotion to my heart, and a feeling that we had the right professionals in Santiago to remind us how memoriablel this day was to me, my family, and most importantly to my daughter – my hat is off to you – nothing I can say adequately expresses my thanks.

John and Mandi were high school sweethearts. For John, it took one glance at Mandi in the hallway and he was sold. A couple nights on AOL Instant Messenger, and he sealed the deal.
Being that John is a true MN hunter, Mandi decided to have a few photos of her taken in one of his hunting shirts, clearly showing him that “The Hunt is Over” (which she titled the book). I found this profound, creative, and perfect for Mandi and John’s story. It’s so fun to watch John and Mandi, how they know each other so well, and how they still are high school sweethearts.
These previews make me want to marry (my) Matt all over again and drag you along. You have a beautiful way of capturing emotion that doesn’t feel forced or unnatural and I LOVE that. Good work MB.
Laura is extremely organized. Chad likes to give headlocks. Together, Chad and Laura have about as much fun as 2 people can have together.
On the windiest day I can remember, Chad and Laura tied the knot. But in spite of the uncharacteristic MN spring gusts, their day really went off without a hitch, thanks to Laura’s knack for organization I assume. When I met with Laura and Chad before their big day, I asked them what they love the most about each other. Both of them agreed that they complimented each other like no one else in the world. They both bring so much to the others’ life that they couldn’t bring on their own. To me, that’s what this whole marriage thing is largely about; finding someone who makes you a better you.
I hope you enjoy Chad and Laura’s highlight film as much as I do and don’t forget to give someone you love a headlock. -M
Our time in Spain is coming to and end. The wedding festivities were absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to start editing. It was incredible to be a part of a wedding from another culture and see the differences and similarities unfold.
I took this picture as we were walking the streets of Santiago de Compestela and have been inspired by it. There is so much hype surrounding the incredible sights that Santiago de Compestela has to offer, but this particular moment helped me re-prioritize as I was shooting. It’s was so easy to get lost in trying to focus on the huge Cathedrals and amazing visuals all around me, but what I really want people to connect to in our films is how each couple we spend time with has a unique story that has crafted their wedding day. I really hope that as we continue to develop as story-tellers, our films become and feel more and more “hand-crafted”. Just some food for thought. -M
We spent the day exploring Santiago de Compestela with Eliesa and Judd of Photogen Inc. It was amazing to see everything we have heard so much about. This place is indeed magical. Here are a few sights from the day. Enjoy. -M
